PDSF current setup for GC work

Hi all,

Below is a summary of the GC setup on pdsf. Item 1 notes the
disk space for common software. Please use this area since
the /home/users area is very limited compared to the number of
current pdsf-users. Feel free to make package or work directories
in the GC common area.

1. ~1Gbyte of NFS mounted software development space (backed-up),
	/home/common/GC

2. Objectivity version 5-beta
	module load objectivity/5b3
	lockserver running on pdsfsu31

3. Objectivity version 4.02 release
	module load objectivity
	lockserver running on pdsfsu32

4. Omnibroker version 2.0.2
	module load omnibroker

5. 4-Gbyte NFS mounted scratch area on pdsfsuns
	/gc-obj

	pdsfsu10 63% df -kt /gc-obj
Filesystem kbytes used avail capacity Mounted on
	pdsfsu32:/gc-obj 4179304 8 3761368 1% /gc-obj

5. 31 sparc10s, pdsfsu1-pdsfsu31 Solaris2.5.1 128 Mbytes/machine
    1 Ultra1, pdsfsu32 Solaris2.5.1 128 Mbytes

A quick reminder on the "Modules" system:

For a list of available software, type module avail
To see setup of a particular package, type module display <package-name>
To invoke a package setup, type module load <package-name>
To list "loaded" software, type module list

Craig also mentioned that the HPSS upgrade (to 3.2) for which Solaris2.6 client
libraries exist has been done on the DPSS-to-HPSS test system. This does not
apply to pdsf at present but may in the future.

Please send questions to pdsf-support@lbl.gov

Thanks, Jeff
