Subject: HPSS PFTP documentation
Attn: HPSS PFTP Users
Dear Colleagues,
Documentation on how to use PFTP (Parallel FTP) with HPSS is available
at
http://www.rhic.bnl.gov/RCF/Software/HPSS/index.html - click on
Documentation and go to Chapter 3 in the table of contents (for
copyright reasons these pages are accessible only within bnl.gov).
For HPSS/PFTP related user ID, account, COS, etc., info please contact
your RCF liaison person.
N.B. After starting a pftp session on your machine and before initiating
any transfers you are advised (for better performance) to enter the
following sequence of PFTP commands:
setpwidth 2
setpblocksize 4194304
psocket
Since PFTP reflects to a large extent the HPSS data storage and handling
specifics, it is highly recommendable to use PFTP instead of ordinary
FTP for data transfers in and out of HPSS.
Hope you find the information useful!
Regards,
Ognian
