The testing of Grand Challenge Project algorithms requires large samples of generated events. VENUS MC code was chosen as the most CPU effective out of available heavy ions generators. The goal is to simulate 100,000 (each) central events of Au+Au and S+S at 200 GeV/n and 60 GeV/n. VENUS code (as well as RQMD) was installed and tested successfully on T3E.
Presently we already have few thousand of VENUS events and about 30,000 RQMD. Production is in progress.
Installation of GEANT code simulating detector performance is in progress (this code was in the successfully installed and run on T3D).
