The 5th International
Conference on Strangeness in Quark Matter will be held
July
20-25, 2000 in
Berkeley, California. The focus of this conference
will be on the experimental and theoretical aspects of
strangeness and heavy flavor production in heavy ion
collisions, including scenarios involving production and
study of properties of the Quark Gluon Plasma.
Topics to be discussed include:
- Strangeness
Production in Heavy Ion Collision
- Strangeness and the
Quark Gluon Plasma
- Strange Matter and
Astrophysical Aspects
- Future
Developments
The conference will be
held at the Clark
Kerr Campus
Conference Center of the University
of California at Berkeley,
in the picturesque San Francisco Bay Area. The scientific
program will consist of plenary presentations of
invited talks and selected contributed papers and
posters. Papers not chosen for oral
presentation will be encouraged for poster
presentation. The official language of the
conference will be English.
Limited support for
students and young scientists will be available upon
request. For more information contact Dr. Grazyna Odyniec
at the address on the bottom of this
page.
Berkeley is a 40 minute
drive north of the San Francisco International Airport
and about a 25 minute drive from the Oakland
