Dear Colleagues: The RHIC/INT Winter Workshop on "Prospects for Year One Physics at RHIC" will be held from January 7 to January 9, 1999, at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Berkeley, California, USA. The purpose of the workshop is to review what has been learned so far from ultrarelativistic heavy ion collisions at the BNL AGS and CERN SPS and discuss the future physics program at RHIC. This workshop will focus on physics topics relevant for the first year of RHIC running. Attendance is limited to 60 participants. Please contact NXu@lbl.gov if interested in attending . Limited funds are available to provide partial local support for young scientists in Berkeley. Requests for support should be sent to NXu@lbl.gov no later than December 15, 1998. To help support the junior participants, there is a registration fee of $50. More information on the preliminary agenda, accommodations, transportation, and weather can be found on the workshop home page: http://www-rnc.lbl.gov/rww99.html.
