"Philosophers call this object matter, adding that our
intelligence grasps its meaning only imperfectly, since imperfection is
its nature, that it does not really exist and therefore cannot claim any
predicate, and although it exists only virtually, its predicate is
corporeal. Aristotle says that it is, so to speak, ashamed to
appear naked, and therefore only shows itself in a clothed form."

Research Interests:
- ARIANNA. ARIANNA is a proposed 100 km^3 neutrino detector, to be built in
Moore's Bay, on the Ross Ice Shelf. In December, 2009, I camped out on the ice to
deploy the first detector prototype.
My blog talks
about my experiences during the trip, and also discuss developments in neutrino
science since then.
-
IceCube. The local (LBNL) web pages are
here , including some a travelog and photos.
