Simulations of Elliptic Flow with Viscosity
Derek Teaney (Arkansas State)
Abstract:
First I will review hydrodynamics. Then I will show some first/preliminary
plots of simulations of elliptic flow with viscosity. After this introduction
I will discuss momentum diffusion of heavy quarks in N=4 Super Yang Mills
exploiting the AdS/CFT correspondence. I will review the physics of the
correspondence and compute the heavy quark diffusion coefficient for
non-relativistic quarks. Subsequently I will compute the transverse momentum
broadening of a fast heavy quark moving through the plasma.
