From the Bevalac to RHIC: Some Trends in Heavy-Ion Collisions
Declan Keane (Kent State University)
Abstract:
This talk begins with a review two projects within the STAR collaboration at RHIC
-- the addition of transverse segmentation to the Zero-Degree Calorimeters and
on-going preparations for a Beam Energy Scan. Then, the remaining time will be
devoted to observations on a little-noticed trend, quite unrelated to the progress
of physics and technology, in how research has been conducted in the field of
relativistic heavy-ion collisions over the past couple of decades.
