Abstract: I discuss QCD factorization between hard and soft subprocesses in inclusive reactions where the momentum fraction x of one parton approaches unity as the hard scale Q^2 \to \infty, such that Q^2(1-x) is fixed. This ``BB limit'' corresponds to a fixed (large or small) inclusive mass and is thus closely connected to exclusive processes described by Generalized Parton Distributions. The inclusive cross section is given by the convolution of a calculable hard subprocess with a forward multiparton matrix element of the target. Data on the Drell-Yan process and on Single Spin Asymmetries point to the relevance of the BB limit for understanding observed phenomena at high x. |
