	Now that rlnx01 is back up today I see that I don't need to 
login to rmds03 to access the /disk2/phenix area.  The rlnx01 platform 
was down yesterday; maybe you were working on it?

	What I am doing now is copying a 2 GByte file on the 
/phenix/mds area to the /disk2/phenix area, using the rlnx01 platform.
As I expected, the disk copy is not terribly fast: ~430 kBytes/second 
or 1.3 hours for the copy -- comparable to a fast FTP link.  I think 
that this slow copy speed is a feature of the REDHAT5.0 operating 
system?  It would be interesting to copy the copy speed directly from 
the rmds03 platform.  I don't see any other platforms which can see the 
/disk2/phenix area.
