ìprogress in physics has always come from studying simple
systemsî. ìA proton is a garbage can. You are not going to learn
anything by throwing a garbage can onto another oneî.
Lip service was paid to a+a in the ISR, but that was simply to
oppose our policy to close it down..
Both types of problems had to be adressed!
