RE: DST data structures for Mock Data Challenge 1

Dear STAR Software People:

A document describing the STAR Data Summary Tables to be used from now
through the first Mock Data Challenge has been completed. In it are
a number of STAF table defintions which contain all the event information
that will be saved following event reconstruction. These structures are
intended to serve the needs of STAR offline computing for the first Mock
Data Challenge at the RCF during the latter part of this summer. These
structures should be viewed as the first prototype for the final DST
tables which must be ready in about one year.

I would like to thank Spiros Margetis, Dhammika Weerasundara and Mike Lisa
for their fine work in bringing together the wide variety of data objects
that summarize STAR event reconstruction, into a comprehensive document.

The STAR DST document may be obtained in postscript form at:

      http://www.rhic.bnl.gov/~margetis/dst.ps

or by following the path:

STAR Home -> Computing -> Data Processing Design -> Reconstruction & DST

Sincerely,

Lanny Ray
